Drivalia has secured €48 million in financing from the European Investment Bank (EIB). The car leasing and mobility provider intends to use this to procure 2,900 emission-free EVs for corporate customers in Italy and Finland.

The funds provided by the EIB will enable Drivalia to deploy around 2,900 new battery-electric vehicles for businesses and freelancers in Italy and Finland. These vehicles will be offered through long-term rental agreements. According to EIB estimates, the project is expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 3,000 tonnes per year compared to a similar fleet of internal combustion engine vehicles.

With this EIB-financed investment, Drivalia, which operates in 16 European countries with a fleet of around 216,000 vehicles, aims to expand further. The Turin-based company offers a comprehensive range of mobility solutions, including car rentals for all durations (short-, medium-, and long-term), monthly car subscriptions, and electric car-sharing.

The agreement supports the strategies of the EIB, the EU’s climate bank, and the Crédit Agricole Auto Bank Group (owner of Drivalia) in favour of increasingly sustainable mobility. This will be achieved by progressively increasing the number of battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in Drivalia’s fleet.

“The adoption of electric mobility is an essential component of the energy transition in Europe,” stated Gelsomina Vigliotti, Vice-President of the EIB. “With this operation, the EIB is supporting a project that accelerates the deployment of zero-emission vehicles in two markets with very different dynamics, contributing to the achievement of European climate goals and offering new sustainable solutions to businesses.”

Roberto Sportiello, CEO of Drivalia, added: “We are proud of this agreement with the EIB, which represents an important milestone on our journey towards democratic, zero-impact mobility. Thanks to this financing, we will be able to further accelerate the electrification of corporate fleets in Italy and Finland. At Drivalia, our goal is to lead the energy transition by offering flexible, integrated, and sustainable solutions capable of accompanying businesses towards a more environmentally friendly future.”

Drivalia is a mobility company that covers a wide range of solutions, from traditional car rentals to car subscriptions, car-sharing, and leasing. It traces its roots to the automotive group Stellantis and emerged from the mobility and rental operations of the former FCA Bank and the Leasys brand. As part of a strategic realignment, the French banking group Crédit Agricole took full control of the banking activities, leading to the creation of today’s CA Auto Bank.

Following this change in ownership, the former car rental division was spun off and re-established at the end of 2022 under the name Drivalia as an independent, manufacturer-neutral subsidiary. Today, the company operates as the fully fledged mobility arm of CA Auto Bank within the Crédit Agricole Group, steering its pan-European course in the field of flexible and sustainable mobility.
